Many insects cause direct and in direct damage to plants.Direct damage ranges from sucking liquid from the plants to marks on the leaves.Much more serious indirect damage is determined by the fact that some insects are carriers of viruses and this causes a reduction of production, fruit malformation and withering of the plant until it dies.

The insects most frequently affecting plants (especially the tomato) are Trialeurodes vaporariorum better known as the “white fly” which transmits generic viruses, Bemisia tabaci and Frankliniella occidentalis which respectively transmit the Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) and the Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV) Chemical and microbiological control means are undoubtedly effective in terms of their power for controlling insects, but before being killed by the insecticide used in the greenhouse, they prick the plant and transmit the Virus damage on tomatoes.

To prevent insects from entering greenhouses, a physical barrier is now used. This is a woven mesh with different mesh sizes according to the insect to be defended from.This type of protection is used all over the world and prevents virus carrying insects from entering and keeps down insecticide treatment for controlling other harmful insects

Agriculture Protection nets made by Arrigoni are produced by using 1st quality polymers supplied by the most important European producers.

UV ray stabilizing process in yarn extrusion step is arranged by specific active ingredients which ‘defend' the fiber from its natural degrading.

2.Specific Mixing System

The equipment used to carry out the bond among HDPE polymer and its additives (UV stabilizer and color master, if any) is really specific one (gravimetric blender), which assures an excellent and regular distrubition of mentioned additives in the polymer batch mix, by using automatic ‘weighing' system as mixing parameter, instead of ‘volume', or simple human operation.

3. Production Process

All machineries available in our production plant are modern ones (manufacturing year is after 2000) and allow to reach maximum strenght and durability of the product.

Production process (spinning step and weaving/knitting step) is performed by high qualified operators, inside the factory, so the company is in condition to have an high level of product quality, having all production steps under direct control.

5. Net Identification (Tracing Monofilament)

To be sure that Arrigoni company is the producer of the net, a special type of monofilament is used inside the net as ‘producer identification' or ‘tracer', on warp direction, which assures ‘optical' (under special light exposure) and ‘chemical' tracing possibility.

6.Testing Laboratory

The company has an internal testing laboratory, equipped with various instruments to check quality, strength and life of the product: n, 28 net samples are constantly under test.

7. Product Defect Responsibility

In case of demonstrated net defect or net degradation,the responsibility of Arrigoni is only limited to net replacement; the replacement will be assured according to residual life of the net.



We advised to follow earnestly the principles in the below for use most effective and appropriate of your Arragoni nets.


  • Store the net rolls, horizontally placed on a smooth surface in the shadow and protected area.
  • Then setup, store the 0.5 m2 net sample, that there is an identification tag of net.
  • Prevent contact the nets with non-polyethylene, other plastic materials. This is accelerates the wear and tear.
  • Nets, open or closed form, do not expose to the sun. Thus will not be sticking.
  • Storage period of nets should not be longer than 1 year.
  • Do not waft the rolls.


  • Disinfect the frames and wooden parts with non-petroleum-based ingredients.
  • Strengthens the greenhouse structure (especially clamping portions) and renew defective parts.
  • Do not use PVC profiles. Instead, we recommend using wooden or metal profiles.
  • Wood and metal parts that contact with net, should not be sharp. Corners and protruding parts are closed with the polyethylene band.
  • Before installation of nets, clean and rinse the greenhouse against rust residues.
  • If you are installing not sewn together nets, attach the firts net to the sides of the greenhouse. Then attach the other to the first, connect on the edges of greenhouse. Please continue this way until closed all greenhouse.
  • Arrigoni, is not liable for damages that will be encountered in case of violation of these principles.


Greenhouse Film with Net

  • Open the packaged net and lay down perpendicular to toward grooves. Rolls the net to toward transverse and create a roll.
  • Net is moved to the top of the greenhouse; net are lifted by workers standing on top of each groove and spreaded to the top of the greenhouse. This operation must be performed in a coordinated manner.
  • Net is opened and spreaded to the top of the greenhouse.
  • Net is performed in three steps to connect to the greenhouse; firstly net is spreaded to the top of the greenhouse,net's end (transverse) is bended around a beam and is tacked to the wooden rails, which used in the installation of side-curtain. In the same actions are repeated by stretching net (lengthwise) on the reverse side.
  • After completion of the installation of the first net unit, other units are moved.
  • When the multiple net is spreaded in paralel, they must be connected together with ARRIGONI UV resistant ropes.
  • If you are expecting heavy wind storms, PVC or net's ropes are stretched mild on the net that top of the grooves.
  • Avoid contact net with bloating and screws (glass or polycarbonate greenhouse).
